OUT OF TOWN
1. BIO ASPEN
This little spot is tucked away in Aspudden, a southern suburb of Stockholm, and it’s exactly the kind of place you wish you had around the corner. Part cinema, part stage, part bistro and bar – Bio Aspen is a celebration of everything fun in life. With a mix of both blockbusters, classics, hidden film treasures, concerts and exhibitions there’s always something exciting going on here. After a short summer break, Bio Aspen reopens on July 11 and will be running all summer long.
2. BAR MONTAN
If you’re not quite ready to venture too far from the city, Slakthusområdet (which is like the Stockholm version to Copenhagen’s Meatpacking District) is a perfect place. This area is packed with great restaurants, but with the city a little emptier than usual, it’s the perfect time to hit up a place that’s usually fully booked. If you thought you were over small plates, you clearly haven’t been to Bar Montan yet. Go there. Order everything. Live your best life.
3. BAGERIET BAK
Located in the classic suburb of Hökarängen, (or “Hökis”), Bageriet BAK is a next-level bakery that doesn’t do anything halfway. Think world-class cinnamon buns, pizza, pub quizzes, jazz nights, and a staff so lovely you’ll want to stay all day. And, while you’re at it, don’t miss to check out their Instagram feed for a good laugh.
