June

How to: EVENT SEASON

If there’s one thing we know about June, it’s that it marks the beginning of event season. From weddings and graduation parties to corporate gatherings and garden hangouts, the calendar is filling up fast. Therefore, a little guide to surviving – and thriving – during event season feels right on time.

1. WHAT TO WEAR

In Sweden, we tend to keep things casual – sometimes too casual. The dress code for most events is almost always a vague “sommarfin” (summer pretty), and while the relaxed guidelines are well-meaning, they often leave you standing in front of your closet, completely stumped.

5. WHAT TO SMALL TALK ABOUT

Events are full of encounters with people you sort of know. You see them a few times a year, never really know what to talk about, and your only goal is to glide through the interaction painlessly. Therefore, here are some timely conversation topics that will work in almost any mingling situation:

  • Married at First Sight Sweden. Our nation’s unofficial campfire. Even total strangers (or slightly boring acquaintances) tend to light up when this one comes up.

On 24 May, we’re hosting our annual wine festival, featuring orange wine tastings and an epic garden hang. More details on that, along with two other wine tips, can be found here.

Speaking of event season, we just dropped six new acts for our sessions this summer! Check them out here
