Why should you stay in Södermalm?

Why should you stay at Södermalm?

Södermalm lets you drift between energy and calm, between creativity and quiet streets full of hidden corners. From the first coffee at Nytorget to the last light over Mosebacke, the neighborhood moves at its own pace.

It is in the middle of this rhythm you find NOFO. Steps from small boutiques, vintage treasures, Scandinavian fashion and record stores, and surrounded by bars and restaurants that shape the area’s easygoing pulse. You are also close to connections whether you are heading toward the waterfront, Central Station or the exhibition halls.

NOFOs house tells its own story. A heritage listed building with soft corners and worn in charm, with a wine bar that draws in the neighborhood and a courtyard that becomes a green oasis when the city hum grows loud. A place that welcomes you with the warmth of something familiar, even on your first visit.

Hotel NOFO is a true gem in Södermalm. The hotel’s mix of historic charm and modern comfort creates a welcoming atmosphere, the rooms are spotless and cozy, and the breakfast is excellent. Its location is ideal for exploring one of Stockholm’s most vibrant neighborhoods. A special mention goes to Bella at reception, who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of her way to help me understand the area and discover great local spots. Her warm and professional approach made our stay feel even more memorable.

Staying at this hotel was definitely the best choice I could have made. Its location is in a beautiful area, close to the city center. You can walk, but I mostly used public transportation; it’s very close to both bus and metro stops. What’s even better is that it’s not in the middle of the touristy chaos. Instead, it’s in a more upscale, tranquil neighborhood. Behind the hotel there’s a large park with a church and a cemetery, which allows for lovely greenery views from the room and waking up to birdsong in the morning was simply magical. The breakfast was outstanding. Although it’s a buffet, everything was homemade and high quality. It could get a bit crowded but enjoying such a breakfast in the open-air courtyard is something I doubt I could find in any other hotel. I didn’t get a chance to try the dinner or drinks since I had other reservations, but I’m sure it would have been enjoyable. I stayed in a compact double room; future guests should consider that the smaller room category might feel a bit tight. This was such a pleasant stay that it made me want to return to Stockholm again. It truly deserves the highest rating from start to finish.

I stayed at NOFO Hotel and it was a wonderful experience! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a charming thematic decor that blends classic and modern styles in a unique way. Every detail of the space feels personal and cozy. The real highlight, however, was the service. From the front desk to the restaurant, every staff member was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful. A special shoutout to the reception team — always ready to assist with a smile, whether it was offering tips about the city or helping with anything I needed during my stay. Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise! Extremely varied, with options to suit all tastes — from fresh fruit and artisanal bread to hot dishes and traditional Swedish treats. The restaurant staff were just as excellent, making you feel welcome from the start of the day. I’d absolutely come back!

Our stay at NOFO Hotel was phenomenal!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was delightful! Every morning, they serve a delicious, high-quality buffet style breakfast for guests with the option to sit outside in a charming courtyard area. The neighborhood is ideal; the location is very peaceful and tucked away from loud traffic. We were easily able to walk to any restaurants and coffee shops in Södermalm. Accessing Gamla Stan and Downtown Stockholm was an easy 20-40 min scenic walk. NOFO is the place to stay. I’d absolutely come back!

This hotel is gorgeous! Stayed here as a family in two rooms for two nights for a short break. I travel a lot so have stayed in a lot of hotels. The hotel looks beautiful. Such nice staff who were helpful and kind. The breakfast was astonishingly good. The whole booking was very very good value for money and I would say overall this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in across the world.
