Swedish Glögg
You’ll need about:
- Two bottles of red wine you actually enjoy
- Around 20 cl sherry
- Around 10 cl cognac
- Peel from two oranges
- One cinnamon stick
- A generous handful of dried whole spices
- Star anise
- Cloves
- A small piece of fresh ginger
- About 5 dl sugar - taste and adjust as you go
- Heat the wine sherry and cognac with the orange peel the cinnamon stick the dried spices and the ginger.

Let it come just under a boil then lower the heat and let it simmer until it smells like winter. Add sugar and taste until it feels right. Strain and serve warm.
