Stay in: Style
Now that the cold weather has arrived, many of us are feeling that familiar urge to nest — to
fix, tweak, and cozy up our homes, getting them ready for the movie nights and long dinners
ahead. So, to help you find a little inspiration, here’s our guide to some of the city’s best
interior stores.
Brandstationen
Located on Hornsgatan, this shop — as the name suggests — is housed in a former fire
station. And it’s not just the setting that’s inspiring; the carefully curated selection inside is
bound to get your decorating fingers itching. Here, old meets new in the best possible way —
70s pieces and turn-of-the-century treasures mix effortlessly with thoughtfully chosen
contemporary design.
Söders Retro & Design
Another Söder gem, just a short stroll from NOFO, can be found by Nytorget. This retro lover’s dream offers a wonderful assortment of vintage lamps, educational posters, old maps and — perhaps best of all — a true paradise for anyone with a soft spot for teak furniture.
A World of Craft
With two stores in Stockholm — one in Vasastan and one on Söder — A World of Craft
offers a beautifully curated mix of handicrafts and folk art from across Africa, Asia, and
Latin America. The shop works directly with artisans and design collectives in several
countries and is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization, supporting global creativity
and fair, sustainable trade. Here you’ll find stunning lampshades, rugs, baskets, and unique
pieces that bring warmth and character to any home.
Tambur
Another lovely neighbor of ours here at NOFO, Tambur is a gem of a design store with a
focus on timeless interiors. Their kitchen selection is especially worth a visit — making it the
perfect spot if you’re ready to swap your basic IKEA set for something a little more special,
and love the idea of cooking your autumn stews in true style.
